Cerebral Palsy: Causes and Cure

Cerebral-Palsy

Cerebral Palsy is a neurological condition that is most common at an early stage in life. Seen in children through a young age, it restricts the movement of the body among other damages. The more severe the disorder there will be the lesser movement of the body and patients can be limited to a wheelchair for life. While the brain stays active, there may be some abnormal damages that control the function of the body. With the right Cerebral Palsy treatment, a patient can be relieved to a great extent.

The disorder can persist through pregnancy and after the child is born, symptoms can be seen. It is caused mainly due to the damage that affects the developing brain of a child. Some of the early symptoms are:

• A child may face difficulty in walking at an early stage. This is caused by the inactiveness of the muscles that further result in no coordination and add stiffness to the body.

• As an infant grows, he/she may face problems in learning. This may slow the process of speech and the ability to understand in the initial stage of life.

• Other symptoms include inactiveness of the body, difficulty in doing quick, simple activities, seizures, speech disorder and bodily malformation.

While there are several treatments that cerebral palsy patients undergo, stem cell therapy is the closest to bringing relief. Since there is no permanent cure, such a therapy can show remarkable improvements and help improve the quality of life of the patients. Through stem cell treatment, the patient’s active stem cells are extracted from their bone marrow. These stem cells are then injected into their body in parts that control the functioning of the brain and other neurological movements. This boosts the functioning of the brain and allows it to correspond with other parts of the body. As mentioned before, it is not a complete cure but it brings a positive aspect of the patient’s life. Some patients have seen better results with this treatment compared to years of therapies. This therapy does not work on the outer surface to enable movement in the patient but functions through the brain and helps in its activeness. Thus the impact is greater as compared to other Cerebral Palsy treatment in India.

Cerebral Palsy-Causes and Cure

Cerebral Palsy is a condition that varies from patient to patient. In some cases, patients are not able to actively participate using their body and brain. There are also cases where the brain is active and one has speech disorders but the ability to grasp and learn along with movement restrictions. The impact of stem cell treatment thus will vary from case to case. If a patient’s brain functions well and responds to the treatment, he/she may be able to walk and have access to the smoother motion. Similarly, when stem cells are injected they may help in increasing the IQ of the patient and improve speech and learning capabilities. It becomes easier for the patient to be independent, and to move about comfortably even within certain limitations.

Stem cell therapy has shown a new light in regard to life-long disorders. Where having no cure was a reason of dismay, it has given hope and much shown much improvement in patients suffering from early disorders and life-threatening injuries. With this, we hope to bring a positive change in the lives of the patient and help them in the best way possible through who benefit from stem cell treatment.
