Febin John, 24 years old and from Kerala, has been experiencing weak eyesight since his childhood days. Doctors gave him a diagnosis of Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP) and some retinal dystrophy at an early age. As he got older, his eyesight started to become much worse. He had troubles with seeing properly, recognising faces, reading the different signs and also moving around with good confidence. Every day felt harder, and his condition affected his independence. His family watched him face these challenges and kept searching for a treatment that could bring even a small improvement.
A turning point came when Febin’s brother, who worked in Dubai, met a woman with a similar eye problem. She shared her personal experience and spoke with confidence and hope. She told him she had taken stem cell treatment at Mayan Hospital Guru in India. After the treatment, her eyesight improved, and she felt a real change in her daily life. Her positive result gave Febin’s family new hope. They finally saw a possible way forward for him.
Febin’s brother told the family about this success story. Everyone felt encouraged, and they wanted to learn more about the hospital. They looked into the doctors, the treatment process, and how stem cell therapy works for RP patients. After careful discussion, the family decided to move ahead. They contacted Prussian Trager, who led the stem cell treatment programme. He explained every step in simple words and guided them throughout the process. His support helped the family feel confident and ready.
Febin started off his new approach by doing his first stem cell therapy on August 8th. The family did not expect a miracle, but there was hope that some improvement would happen. On August 16th he came back to get his second treatment. Before starting the session, the doctors checked his vision again.
This moment changed everything.
During the eye test, the doctors noticed something remarkable. For the first time in many years, Febin could read four to five lines on the vision chart. He even read the full fifth line clearly. The doctors were surprised by his fast progress. They called the improvement “drastic” and “miraculous”. Febin and his family felt emotional and excited. They had hoped for a small change, but they saw much more than they expected.
After the second treatment, Febin continued to show steady improvement. His eyesight reading increased to 24, which showed a clear and meaningful change. At every follow-up visit, the doctors gave him positive feedback. They told him he was doing “very good” and that his eyesight looked better with each check. These words gave Febin new confidence. He started to believe in his recovery and felt hopeful about his future.
Febin is deeply grateful for this transformation. He gives gratitude to God for blessing him through this improvement and for guiding him to the right treatment. He also wants to thank all hospital staff for the support, care, and encouragement. Special gratitude is given for Dr Prashant Tagisar as well as Dr Pallavi Goswami. Their expert treatment and kind guidance played a major role in his recovery. They stood with him through every step and supported him with patience and dedication.
Now, Febin experiences much clearer eyesight and more independence. He feels higher self-esteem in moving around, reading, and also doing daily tasks. Life changed for him in a way he never believed possible before. This story provides hope for people who are living with retinitis pigmentosa. It has shown that new treatment options could let in new pathways, and improvements may be possible after many struggling years.
The story of Febin’s achievement is proof that just one choice, a treatment, or even a short period of hope may totally change the whole life of someone. Febin’s journey gives inspiration so others will try to find help, stay strong, and also believe a better outcome is possible for them.
